Overview

Solar-powered irrigation uses energy from the sun to supply water to crops, helping farmers cope with water scarcity. The project promotes systems tailored to Ghana, crop-specific irrigation and water-saving practices, alongside financing models such as pay-per-use to make adoption more accessible.

Ten training modules help users plan, design and operate the systems, while a proposed policy framework supports wider uptake. The approach aims to improve food production while reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
