Overview

On top of climate related issues, food insecure smallholder farmers in Nepal face many challenges such as low yields, limited access to organic inputs and certification, as well as exclusion from premium markets. This is happening because of a lack of data, transparency and traceability in the supply chain and causes the exclusion of smallholder farmers from commercial value chains. aQysta provides smallholder farmers with services like training, certification but also seeds on a pay-after-harvest basis. They prioritise indigenous and intercropped varieties that improve soil health, strengthen resilience and increase farmer income. At the same time, each step of production and trade are digitised on their platform to ensure traceability and fair pricing.
