Overview

Nepal’s frameworks and systems are fragmented when it comes to agricultural advisory and farming remains highly input intensive. On top of this, it is vulnerable to elements such as climate variability pests as well as weak coordination between farmers, service providers and government actors. Additionally, there is a lack of timely weather updates, irrigation advice and even direct market links.

Super Krishak combines Internet of Things (IoT) enabled sensors, a mobile advisory application and a digital farm portal in a single platform, which links farmers and public services. Among its various functions, it delivers personalised crop recommendation, weather alerts, irrigation monitoring and market linkage tools that help farmers plan more effectively, while reducing water use inputs and production risks.
