Call for Proposals: IKI Medium Grants
The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) is launching the seventh round of funding for the IKI Medium Grants (IMG).
The IKI supports projects that contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the Convention on Biological Diversity in developing and emerging economies. Civil society organisations, academic institutions and not-for-profit organisations are particularly encouraged to apply for IKI Medium Grants.
With a total budget of up to eight million euros, the German Government is providing funding to civil society organisations, academic institutions and not-for-profit organisations based in Germany that wish to implement innovative projects on climate protection and the conservation of biodiversity in collaboration with local partner organisations in the Global South.
The ideas competition (call) opens on 13 October 2026 and closes on 12 January 2027 at 11.59 am (CET). Funding will be provided for projects with a budget of between 300,000 and 800,000 euros and a duration of two to three years. The projects will be implemented in collaboration with partner organisations in one or two implementing countries.
