Overview

The project pairs solar-powered irrigation with the System of Rice Intensification to help smallholder farmers in Bong County grow more rice with less water. It introduces water-saving practices, including alternate wetting and drying, alongside training to help farmers adopt and manage the technologies.

By improving water management and using solar energy, the approach aims to make rice production more resilient to erratic rainfall and strengthen local food security.
