Overview

Solar-powered pumps will supply irrigation water, with farmers paying for the volume delivered to their fields instead of making large upfront investments. Payments will support system maintenance, while water monitoring will match supply to crop needs and reduce waste.

The project will design an affordable combination of solar panels, groundwater pumps and distribution systems, and train women to design, install and manage the technology and pass their skills on to others.
