Overview

The system draws weather data from Nigeria’s meteorological agency and other sources, then automatically shares forecasts and warnings in local languages through radio, text messages, voice services and online channels. Agricultural extension workers help reach farmers without phones or radios.

Piloted in Kebbi State, the approach combines wider access to timely information with training to support decisions on planting, irrigation, crop management and preparing for extreme weather.
