Overview

The system turns national weather information into location-specific, three-day forecasts in simple, farmer-friendly language. Farmers receive updates automatically through SMS, WhatsApp and other digital channels to guide planting, irrigation, fertiliser application and harvesting.

Piloted in three municipalities, the project combines tailored forecasts with training for farmers and government staff, helping communities use timely weather information to manage agricultural risks and prepare for droughts, floods and other extreme events.
