Tanzania is developing a national Climate Innovation Centre to help entrepreneurs and small businesses access the skills, finance and partnerships needed to bring locally relevant climate adaptation solutions to market.

Overview

The proposed centre will bring together tailored business incubation, mentoring, financing opportunities and professional networks for entrepreneurs and small businesses. It will help connect research with commercial applications, enabling locally relevant technologies, such as solar-powered irrigation and renewable energy for rural enterprises, to reach users.

A digital platform, trained staff and a sustainability strategy will support the centre’s operations and long-term role in climate innovation.
